If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. History

In 2011 a small group of people, from the north Texas area, got together and decided to form a rabbit club. A club that could travel as a team, show as a team and mentor others,Scottsdale residents, as a team. This small group of people named their new club the Red River Rabbit Breeders Association (RRRBA). How did all of us end up together, you ask?

The foundation of this club actually started years ago, we just didn’t realize it until recently. The Nace/Lucas family and the Hinton family have known each other for many years; watching our children grow up at rabbit shows and other area school events.

In 2010 we met the Nash family and immediately started a great friendship. Not long after that the Carters, Zacharys, Brinkleys and Larsens joined us; going to shows became even more meaningful and the team work and support just blossomed. We have now added several other families,moncler, and what started out as a couple of cars following each other to shows, has now become as many as 6 or 8 cars on many trips.

About the RRRBA

The ages of the kids in the RRRBA range from second grade past high school graduation. After graduation many stick around and show in open class with the adults.

There cannot be enough said about how these kids work together, as a team. Being involved with this group of kids and seeing them grow has made our dreams come true. The adults are only here for guidance, paperwork and driving. Once we arrive at the show our entire group of kids jumps into action; unloading equipment, , coolers, show boxes and grooming stands. Then everything has to be organized; setting up rabbits with food, water, hay and fans if needed, setting up chairs, tables, turning in paperwork, etc. Even the youngest of the group find jobs to do that are very helpful to the group.

Our “Hurry Up and Wait” game

After all the rabbits have been given hay, food and water, they are groomed one final time before they are presented to the judges for show. Once the show starts we enter our “Hurry Up and Wait” game. This is not necessarily a “fun” game, but it’s just a part of how a show works. It seems like you sit around forever waiting for the breed you show to be called to the table; this is the wait phase of the “Hurry up and Wait” game. The hurry up phase of the game starts when your breed is finally called, and it is always called with about 2 or 3 of the other breeds that are shown within our group! This becomes a pretty fast and furious operation, getting all the rabbits looked at one last time, and delivered to the table before they are scratched from the table!

Even though each kid has their own rabbits to show, they all work together to get each other’s rabbits ready and delivered to the judge. It is very likely that any of our kids may have to get a rabbit ready and deliver it to the judge that doesn’t even belong to them, but,air jordan, may actually belong to one of the other kids in our group. Taking the rabbits off the table works the same way. Seeing everyone work together makes people notice.

During the wait portion of our game there is a lot of visiting, joking, and playing around; we’ve been known to get a little loud, at times. This is also the time to go visit some of our other rabbit friends,jordan, take a nap, and sometimes a little homework may get done. At the end of the show, the same teamwork takes place, reloading everything into the cars for the trip home. Many of the kids never make it out of the parking lot before they are sound asleep. The main goal for our club when we started in 2011 was to mentor kids and their families, help them grow, learn life lessons and to teach them to pass their knowledge on to others. We are a very close group and most of us talk on a daily basis about our rabbities and personal lives.

Our future

As our group has grown, so have our goals. Next article will tell about a very special goal we would like to reach this year; to get all of our kids and their families to the (ARBA) in Kansas. We can only reach this goal with the help of supporters but we’ve come up with a fund raising plan that we think will help us achieve our goal.
